THE -TUSCAN SUN FESTIVAL- CELEBRATES FIVE YEARS IN CORTONA, ITALY

Musical programme boasts distinguished artists such as Joshua Bell, Stéphane Denève, Elïna Garanča, Emmanuelle Haïm, Angelika Kirchschlager, Nina Kotova, Anna Netrebko, Takács Quartet, Jean-Yves Thibaudet and Nikolaj Znaider.
The Tuscan Sun Festival proudly announces the programme for the annual event marking the fifth year for the festival, previously called “One of the Ten Best Summer Arts Festivals in Europe”, by The Independent newspaper in the U.K. With concerts taking place in Cortona in both the intimate Teatro Signorelli, as well other picturesque settings, the musical programme is an imaginative line-up that ranges from recitals to major outside gala events including renowned artists such as Joshua Bell, Stéphane Denève, Elïna Garanca, Emmanuelle Haïm, Angelika Kirchschlager, Nina Kotova, Anna Netrebko, the Takács Quartet, Jean-Yves Thibaudet and Nikolaj Znaider.

In addition to its musical programme, the Tuscan Sun Festival will also be celebrating its fifth year with unique cookery and literary events, wine tastings, receptions, yoga sessions and art exhibitions that will be taking place not only throughout the town of Cortona , but in the beautiful surrounding areas.

Tuscan Sun Festival Founder and Chairman of IMG Artists, Barrett Wissman, says, “The Tuscan Sun Festival is an unique annual celebration of the arts set against the backdrop of the beautiful landscape of Tuscany . In addition to the glowing roster of soloists that will appear, the Tuscan Sun Festival welcomes two new orchestras to the fifth year celebrations: The Venice Baroque Orchestra, under the leadership of Andrea Marcon and le Concert d'Astreé, led by Emmanuelle Haïm. The Russian National Orchestra will return for the 2007 event.
